Changing drivers’ perceptions of
speeding - Interview with Det Supt Andy
In our final video interview with Det Supt Andy Cox, of the Metropolitan Police, he talks about working together to change drivers’ perceptions of speeding.
He discusses the need for an intelligence-led approach to enforcement and for consistency in UK roads policing.
He tells us what he thinks we should do to reduce speeding on the roads and the steps we need to take to turn the offence into an anti-social activity, like drink-driving.
Det Supt Andy Cox has been leading a campaign over recent months to reduce speeding across London.
High-speed offences have risen dramatically on routes across the capital during the COVID-19 pandemic.
