Road Safety Support International (RSSi), a global leader in road safety advocacy and partner to Road Safety Support Ltd, has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. The accolade was presented by HM The Lord-Lieutenant of Essex, Mrs. Jennifer Tolhurst, at a ceremony held on January 23, 2025, at Leez Priory, Essex. This honour recognises RSSi’s exceptional contributions to enhancing road safety worldwide.
Since its establishment in 2008, RSSi has delivered a specialised portfolio of services to police and highway authorities, sharing British expertise in road safety strategy and enforcement on an international scale. The organisation has operated in thirty countries across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia. Through education, advocacy, and the implementation of effective safety measures, RSSi has consistently worked to reduce road-related fatalities and injuries.
By combining expertise in road safety strategy, enforcement technology, and road policing, RSSi has established a global reputation for addressing complex safety challenges. Its collaborative approach involves partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organisations, and industry stakeholders, fostering knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the adoption of best practices. This strategy has driven significant improvements in road safety standards, promoting effective enforcement solutions worldwide.
Domestically, Road Safety Support provides critical assistance to most police forces, highway authorities, and safer roads partnerships across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. RSSi’s world-wide successes reinforces and enhances its UK initiatives, amplifying its impact in reducing road casualties across borders.
The King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade celebrates RSSi’s impressive achievements while inspiring further innovation and growth. As the UK’s highest business accolade, the King’s Award highlights excellence in International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity. RSSi’s recognition underscores its vital role in creating safer roads and saving lives globally.
RSSi’s resilience and commitment are evident in its post-pandemic growth. Since COVID-19, the organisation has achieved a 340.78% increase in growth, with export turnover rising from 49% to 52%.
The award ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including HM Lord-Lieutenant of Essex, Mrs. Jennifer Tolhurst; The High Sheriff of Essex, Mr. David Hurst DL; Madam Mayor, Cllr. Kairen Raper; Cllr. Mark Platt, and Temporary Assistant Chief Constable of Essex Police, Stuart Hooper.
