TISPOL receives royal
award for Project EDWARD

TISPOL has received a royal award for Project EDWARD (European Day without a Road Death), a low-cost campaign run in a partnership between police forces and road safety stakeholders across Europe.

TISPOL, the European Traffic Police network, was presented with a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award at the official ceremony in London yesterday.

TISPOL leads the high-profile, evidence-based initiative through targeted enforcement, media and PR for one day each year.

In 2018, 31 countries participated and a continental road trip covering 3000km across 10 European countries helped to highlight the campaign. Social media reached in excess of 38 million people.

Project EDWARD was backed by Road Safety Support and many of the police forces and safer roads partnerships across the country supported the initiative on social media.

This example is likely to be of most interest to Road Safety Support members. However, a full list of the many well-deserving award winners can be found here: Award winners 2018
