Time to #SaveKidsLives
Organisations and individuals are being urged to #SaveKidsLives to mark the third UN Global Road Safety Week which takes place between May 4 and 10, 2015.
As part of this year’s Road Safety Week, the #SaveKidsLives campaign has been launched and is calling for action to save children’s lives on the roads around the world.
It does so by:
highlighting the plight of children on the roads
generating worldwide action to better ensure the safety of children on the roads
calling for inclusion of safe and sustainable transport in the post-2015 development agenda
For more information about #SaveKidsLives and to sign the declaration on behalf of your organisation visit the campaign website. Please use the hashtag #SaveKidsLives on social media to promote the campaign.
As well as signing the declaration, #SaveKidsLives calls for people to show their support by taking a ‘safie’ (a photograph of groups or individuals holding up signs confirming their support for the campaign and sharing it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtags #Safie and #SaveKidsLives). With the help of colleagues, Road Safety Support added a safie (shown above) and pledged its support on Twitter after the recent RSS National Enquiry Officers’ Workshop.
Road Safety GB is leading the UK’s efforts to support Road Safety Week 2015. Please visit the RSGB website for further details of the planned activities.
