Speed camera testing now
back in full swing
Speed camera testing is now back in full swing at the Road Safety Support ISO 17025 International Speed Test Laboratory.
The team have been busy testing two new enforcement technology systems for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown was announced in March.
Road Safety Support holds ISO 17025 for testing and calibrating speed cameras, vehicle speedometers, telematics and other speed measurement devices, either at its dedicated UK test track or on any road across the world.
The laboratory is one of just a small number of its kind worldwide.
With accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the team test devices to a known precision, proving beyond doubt that the technology is working within specified limits and that the evidence from it can be relied upon in court.
On behalf of the Home Office, Road Safety Support is responsible for testing the reliability and accuracy of new road traffic enforcement technologies in the Type Approval process.
