Shoes displayed to represent
road crash victims in Lincolnshire
Pairs of shoes representing the 56 people who were killed on Lincolnshire’s roads last year have gone on display at Lincoln Cathedral.
The shoes, which reflect the ages and genders of the victims, will be on show for two weeks before being displayed in other churches in the county.
The exhibition was created as part of a joint project between Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership and Churches Together in All Lincolnshire (CTAL).
John Siddle, Communications Manager at Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, said: “We were asked by CTAL to provide a significant road safety message that would provide a visual reminder of the consequences and reality of driving on Lincolnshire's roads.
“It draws a sharp focus of what loss looks like and allows people a moment of reflection to remember those people, families, friends, work colleagues and associates affected by sudden loss due to road traffic collisions.”
