Road Safety Support shared the success of safety camera enforcement in the UK at a conference in Canada this week.

Managing Director, Trevor Hall, spoke about the effectiveness of the various types of speed enforcement technology at the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals’ Conference (CARSP) 2019.

He also took part in a panel discussion session about ‘Risky Driving Behaviour and Road Safety’ alongside other road safety specialists.

Speed cameras have been widely used on UK roads since the 1990s and have since helped to significantly reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in road collisions.

Trevor, who was involved in setting up one of the UK’s first ever safety camera partnerships in Essex in 1999, is one of the world’s leading experts in the development and operation of speed and red light camera technology.

In 2017, Road Safety Support’s international work received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category, in recognition of the company's efforts to reduce road casualties across the world.

In 2018, the company’s facility for calibrating and testing speed cameras and other speed measurement devices was awarded ISO 17025 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Very few organisations in the world have obtained accreditation for this specific use.
