MBE for dedicated road
safety manager
A dedicated road safety manager from Nottinghamshire Police has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her commitment to casualty reduction.
Heidi Duffy, the force Traffic Management and Road Casualty Reduction Manager, received the accolade on June 12, 2015.
Heidi joined the force as an officer in 1978, leaving eight years later to start a family. After working with both the county and city councils in road safety, she re-joined the force in 2001 as Traffic Management Officer and then became the Road Casualty Reduction Manager in 2007.
Heidi has worked with local and regional partners on projects such as Shiny Side Up, Bare Bones, Fatal 4 as well as providing police input to all traffic and road casualty related matters across the force area.
She said: “I’m accepting it as a working award on behalf of all of the partners who work in road safety and casualty reduction in Nottinghamshire.
“If the work we do together can help save just one life on the road then it has all been worthwhile.”
