Mayor presents analyst Peter
with Road Safety Support Award
Northumbrian data analyst Peter Slater, who received a Road Safety Support (RSS) Award for his efforts in casualty reduction, was taken by surprise when the local Mayor recognised his achievement before a council meeting.
Peter, who received the Annual RSS Award for Individual Excellence in Promotion of Road Safety 2017 at the National Safer Roads Partnerships’ Conference, was presented with his award by the Mayor, Councillor Pauline Dillon, in front of a full Gateshead Council meeting.
Peter said: “I didn’t think before this that I embarrassed particularly easily, but it turns out that I don’t take praise all that well (even though it is obviously really nice to receive)!”
Peter was nominated for the Annual RSS Award by Pete Burke, the Camera Enforcement Team Leader at Northumbria Police, for his outstanding efforts in helping to reduce casualties on Northumbria’s roads through the effective use of casualty data.
RSS members will soon be invited to nominate colleagues for this year’s RSS Award for Individual Excellence in Promotion of Road Safety. Further details will be available soon.
