Surrey Driver Fined For Blocking

On April 26, 2017, in Ashley Road, Epsom, Surrey, PC Ian Kyle from the Surrey Safety Camera Partnership was carrying out speed enforcement using a marked police enforcement vehicle.

 

A small white van driven by 59-year-old  Dextor Eyre, from Epsom,  pulled up and completely blocked the view from the enforcement vehicle.

 

Eyre got out and lifted the bonnet of the van and then got back into the driver’s seat without saying anything. He was asked by the officer about his actions and requested that he move on. He refused,

 

PC Kyle reported him at the scene for obstructing police and a summons file was completed.

 

He attended court on  July 28, 2017, and pleaded guilty to the offence of obstruction of a police officer in the execution of his duty.

 

He was fined £200.00 with a victim surcharge of £30.00 and court costs of £85.00.
